HC Deb 15 July 1889 vol 338 c405
MR. PHILIPPS (Lanarkshire, Mid)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, after the vote of the House on Friday, the Government will re-consider their intention to proceed with the Bann Drainage Bill this Session?

* MR. W. H. SMITH

The hon. Gentleman must be well aware of the peculiar circumstances under which the vote on Friday was given, and the cause of the comparatively low score on this side of the House. The Government certainly see no reason to alter their intention with regard to the Bill.

MR. PHILIPPS

What was the cause referred to?

* MR. SPEAKER

Order, order!
