HC Deb 05 July 1889 vol 337 cc1582-3
MR. HENNIKER HEATON (Canterbury)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether the sender of a telegram, handed in on the 27th May at the office 101, Cannon Street, City, for transmission to Addiscombe, complained on 28th May of the non-delivery thereof; and, if he can explain how it happened that it was only on 17th of June that a reply was forwarded to him, stating that the non-delivery of the telegram was due to its having been overlooked in one of the transmission offices?

* THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES,) Cambridge University

I will have inquiry made respecting the subject of the hon. Member's question, and an answer shall be sent him from the Telegraph Branch, to which the matter appertains.
