HC Deb 27 August 1889 vol 340 c581
MR. SHAW LEFEVRE (Bradford, Central)

I beg to ask the Solicitor General fur Ireland whether he will lay upon the Table of the blouse before next Session a Return showing the cases in Ireland, since the passing of the Criminal Law and Procedure (Ireland) Act, where persons have been required to give bail for good conduct under the Statute of Edward III, showing the names, dates, and cause of summons, whether bail was given, and where not given what length of imprisonment was awarded?

MR. MADDEN

A Return showing the cases in Ireland, since the passing of the Criminal Law and Procedure (Ireland) Act, where persons have been required to give bail for good conduct under the Statute of Edward III, will not be opposed by the Government. Steps have been already taken to collect the information necessary for its preparation; but the time available will, I fear, hardly admit of the Return being laid upon the Table before the expiration of the present Session.
