HC Deb 23 August 1889 vol 340 c241
MR. HANDEL COSSHAM (Bristol, E.)

I beg to ask the Attorney General is the lodger franchise designed to permit sons living with their fathers, and employed in their business, to be registered as Parliamentary voters?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir R. WEBSTER,) Isle of Wight

If a man occupies as a lodger rooms of sufficient yearly value to entitle him to a vote, it is no objection that the rooms happen to be in his father's house, or that he is employed in his father's business.
