HC Deb 08 August 1889 vol 339 c795
MR. STAVELEY HILL (Staffordshire, Kingswinford)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether any communications have passed between Her Majesty's Government and the United States Government with reference to the seizure by the United States revenue cutter Rush of the Canadian vessel Black Diamond in the Behring Sea?

No statement of the facts of this case has reached Her Majesty's Government, either from the Colonial Authorities or from the master or crew of the vessel; but the Government of Canada have been asked for the requisite information.
