HC Deb 01 August 1889 vol 339 cc60-1
MR. GOURLEY

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade how many delegates he intends sending to the Maritime International Conference, which is to be held at Washington in the autumn; and whether he can place before the House a programme of the questions likely to be discussed?

* SIR M. HICKS BEACH

No answer has yet been received from the United States Government to our proposals as to the conditions to which the Conference should be subject, and until this is received it is not possible to make any statement with regard to it.
