§ THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Baron H. de WORMS, Liverpool, Toxteth)If my hon. Friend will refer to the answer which I gave in the House on the 28th February, 1888, as reported in Hansard, he will see that the offer which I made was to procure the Returns in the event of a proposal being made to Parliament for legislation on the subject of his question—a contingency which has not at present arisen. When the Western Australia Responsible Government Bill comes before Parliament, these Returns, as far as they can be furnished, will be presented.
