HC Deb 08 April 1889 vol 334 c1806
MR. ADDISON (Ashton-under-Lyne)

I wish to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has considered the representations made to him by the important deputations from Lancashire and Yorkshire of both masters and men in favour of dispensing with the office of certifying surgeons in factories; and whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill upon the subject in the present Session?

MR. MATTHEWS

The representations referred to by my hon. and learned Friend have been under my consideration; and I hope to be able to introduce a Bill amending the Factory Acts this Session, and I will take that opportunity of stating the decision of the Government on the subject.
