asked the Secretary to the Treasury, What steps have been taken in regard to the new contract for the publishing and printing of the debates of the two Houses of Parliament; and, whether, when the contract has been settled, he would object to give a Return of the different tenders?

THE SECRETARY (Mr. JACKSON) (Leeds, N.)

, in reply, said, he had already informed the House that tenders had been invited for the publishing and printing of the debates, and several tenders had been received. When the formal contract had been completed, he would lay it upon the Table of the House.
