HC Deb 16 November 1888 vol 330 cc1373-4
MR. LAWSON (St. Pancras, W.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether he can give any information with regard to those clauses of the Petition received by him in August of last year from the district and suburban postmen which, in his answer of 27th October, he reserved for further consideration?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

Yes, Sir. The summer clothing has, as the postmen desired, been made of lighter material, and better capes have been provided. On the subject of extra pay for extra duty, my recommendations have long been before the Treasury, and I am expecting their Lordships' decision daily. The other questions which affect the Establishment are of a complicated nature, and require further consideration.
