§ MR. BROADHURST (Nottingham, W.)asked the hon. Member for the Knutsford Division of Cheshire, Whether the Metropolitan Board of Works purpose to hold an inquiry into the cause of the lamentable accident in Great Titchfield Street, through which six workmen lost their lives, and 15 others were injured; and, if so, whether the Board are likely to take any action against the parties who are responsible for the accident?
MR. TATTON EGERTON, in reply, said, the matter would come specially before the Board to-morrow. The officers of the Board had attended the inquest and had been in communication with the District Surveyor. The Board would, undoubtedly, follow in the present case the precedent of previous cases.
