HC Deb 15 May 1888 vol 326 cc323-4
COLONEL LAURIE (Bath)

asked the Secretary of State for War, If Her Majesty's Government will assent to the withdrawal of that part of the 1st Schedule to the National Defence Bill repealing the provision in the Volunteer Act of 1863 of an allowance to Volunteers, on embodiment, of two guineas for the provision of necessaries, and one guinea on disbandment?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

The words in the Schedule were due to a mistake, to which my hon. and gallant Friend has recently called my attention, and I have myself given notice to omit them.
