HC Deb 04 May 1888 vol 325 c1351
LORD CHARLES BERESFORD (Marylebone, E.)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, If he can hold out any hope that the Return asked for by the hon. Member for East Marylebone on the 17th of February, 1888 (relative to the number of ships of war waiting for their guns, as well as the probable date on which those guns will be mounted on board) will be presented to the House of Commons before Whitsuntide; and, if not, whether he can fix a date for the presentation of that Return?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. E. STANHOPE)(who replied) said (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

Yes, Sir; certainly before Whitsuntide. It is a difficult Return to prepare, as the destination of guns has been frequently changed.
