SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)I think it right, Sir, to inform the House that Her Majesty's Government have received a despatch from Her Majesty's Ambassador at Berlin, announcing the death of His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of Germany. I make this announcement, Sir, to the House, feeling that it is one which deeply interests this House; and I am sure, Sir, the House and the country will join in the sorrow which has afflicted the whole people of Germany—our allies and our friends.
