HC Deb 25 June 1888 vol 327 c1253

Motion made, and Question proposed, That there be laid before this House Copy of the Report of the Committee appointed by the Treasury to inquire into the system of conducting the Legal Business of the Government."—(Mr. Jackson.)

MR. T. M. HEALY (Longford, N.)

said, he must object to this, unless the Irish information were included. Surely it was very important to Irish Members.

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. JACKSON) (Leeds, N.)

said, the hon. and learned Member had rather misunderstood the Motion. This was a Departmental Inquiry held into the Legal Department of the Treasury. The Committee, after holding many meetings, had made their Report, and it was thought desirable that this Report should be laid on the Table, so that hon. Members interested might see it.

Question put, and agreed to.

Copy presented accordingly; to lie upon the Table, and to be printed. [No. 239.]
