§ COLONEL DUNCAN (Finsbury, Holborn)(for Sir RICHARD TEMPLE) (Worcester, Evesham) asked the President of the Local Government Board, Whether he will exempt the School Board for London from any liability under the Local Government Bill to have its duties and responsibilities transferred to the London County Council?
§ THE SECRETARY (Mr. LONG) (Wilts, Devizes)(who replied) said: There is no intention on the part of the Government that the duties and responsibilities 249 of the School Board for London should be transferred to the London County Council; and when Clause 8 of the Local Government Bill is reached in Committee, the Government will be quite prepared to consider any Amendment with the view of showing clearly that no such arrangement may be made under the clause.
