HC Deb 11 June 1888 vol 326 c1805

Order for Second Reading read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Debate be further adjourned till Monday next."—(Mr. A. J. Balfour.)

DR. TANNER (Cork Co., Mid)

asked that, in justice to Members who had to travel long distances to attend discussions of Irish Business, the Bill might be set down for a date when there was reasonable prospect of its being taken.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

said, at least three days' Notice should be given of an intention to proceed with the debate. If it were put down for a distant date, an opportunity that might present itself earlier for proceeding with the Bill might be lost.

Question put, and agreed to.

Debate further adjourned till Monday next.
