§ Order for Second Reading read.
§ MR. HUNTER (Aberdeen, N.)asked some Member of the Government to say what was proposed to be done with this Bill; if it was to be proceeded with, or what day it was to be taken, and whether the Bill should not appear on the Paper, except on the day when it was really intended to proceed with it?
§ THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. JACKSON) (Leeds, N.)said, he thought the hon. Member must see that it would be obviously impossible to say now, or long before hand, when the Bill would be taken. The Business of the House had to be arranged and governed by circumstances that arose day by day. But if the hon. Member would ask the First Lord, his 159 right hon. Friend would give all the information at his disposal.
§ Second Reading deferred till Monday next.
