HC Deb 16 July 1888 vol 328 c1407
MR. SUMMERS (Huddersfield)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether, with the exception of the Duke of Rutland, all persons, now living, to whom Political or Civil List Pensions have been granted, continue to draw their pensions?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

, in reply, said, the names of those persons to whom political pensions were assigned were given in the Finance Accounts; and on their acceptance of posts under the Government the pensions were suspended during the tenure of office. There was no official record of those persons who, having been awarded Civil List pensions, had ceased to draw them.
