HC Deb 13 July 1888 vol 328 c1240
MR. ROE (Derby)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the Gatling guns, accompanying the Royal Scots on service with the Expedition destined for Zululand, are of the old and obsolete pattern; and, if so, whether he will give instructions for the more modern and improved weapon to be supplied?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E.STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

The Gatling guns referred to were issued from Woolwich in October last. They are of a pattern now in the Service, and are perfectly efficient.
