HC Deb 12 July 1888 vol 328 c1105

In reply to Mr. ARTHUR O'CONNOR (Donegal, E.),

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

said, that he understood that this Bill had passed through the Standing Committee, and he hoped that it would become law before the existing Act expired.

MR. ARTHUR O'CONNOR

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman meant that Bills from the Standing Committees would be dealt with during the present Sitting of the House, or during the intended Autumn Session?

MR. W. H. SMITH

The object which the Government have in view is that, in the event of it becoming necessary to have an Autumn Session, Bills from the Standing Committees shall be considered in that Session.
