HC Deb 10 July 1888 vol 328 cc882-3
MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S.W.)

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether there is any objection to furnish a Return of the cases in which the Director of Criminal Prosecutions has granted his fiat for a criminal prosecution in respect of an alleged libel, giving in each instance, with other particulars, the result of the prosecution?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. MATTHEWS) (Birmingham, E.)

, in reply, said, the Director of Public Prosecutions had no objection to furnish such a Return, provided he was allowed to include cases in which the applications had been refused.
