HC Deb 09 July 1888 vol 328 c709
COLONEL SAUNDERSON (Armagh, N.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether there is, at present, a patient, an inmate of the Richmond Lunatic Asylum, Dublin, named Anne Reddy, who was in August, 1886, and again in March, 1888, registered as a Roman Catholic, and classed among the Roman Catholic patients; although the woman is, and has been since 1875, a Protestant; and, whether the Government will take steps to compel the Board of Governors of the Richmond Asylum to register the patient according to her religious belief?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

I have ascertained that the facts are as stated in the Question. I am having further inquiries made, with a view of bringing the matter before the Board of Governors of the Asylum.
