§ COLONEL SAUNDERSON (Armagh, N.)asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether there is, at present, a patient, an inmate of the Richmond Lunatic Asylum, Dublin, named Anne Reddy, who was in August, 1886, and again in March, 1888, registered as a Roman Catholic, and classed among the Roman Catholic patients; although the woman is, and has been since 1875, a Protestant; and, whether the Government will take steps to compel the Board of Governors of the Richmond Asylum to register the patient according to her religious belief?
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)I have ascertained that the facts are as stated in the Question. I am having further inquiries made, with a view of bringing the matter before the Board of Governors of the Asylum.
