HC Deb 05 July 1888 vol 328 c413
MR. O. V. MORGAN (Battersea)

asked the right hon. Member for Oxford University, Whether the Ecclesiastical Commissioners will give further facilities to their long leasehold tenants to acquire the fee-simple of the same, or will change the term of lease to 999 years on their estates in and near London, as is done by them in the North of England and elsewhere?

SIR JOHN R. MOWBRAY (Oxford University)

The question of the enfranchisement of leaseholds has received the attention of the Estates Committee, and will, doubtless, receive further consideration when the Select Committee of this House on Town Holdings shall have made their Report.
