said, he did not think the Bill ought to be taken at that hour. They were now within one minute of the time for discontinuing debate on this Bill. The Government had repudiated over and over again last Session the notion of giving a salary to the right hon. and gallant Gentleman who had come to the assistance of the Chief Secretary for Ireland.

It being a quarter of an hour before Six of the clock, the Debate stood adjourned till To-morrow.
