CAREW (Kildare, N.)asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether his attention has been called to the Resolution which was passed at a meeting of the inhabitants of Naas on the 12th instant, demanding a sworn inquiry into the conduct of the officers responsible for the attack by the police on the people on the evening of the 3rd instant; and, if so, what steps he intends to take in the matter?
THE SOLICITOR GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. MADDEN)(who replied) (Dublin University)said, the Resolution had been referred to the authorities in Ireland for a Report, which had not yet been received.
