HC Deb 18 December 1888 vol 332 cc640-1
MR. WATT (Glasgow, Camlachie)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the old Glasgow Barracks, known as the Gallowgate Barracks, have been sold to the North British Railway Company; and, whether any provision has been made in the contract as to the class and character of the buildings which may be erected thereon, so as to leave as much open space as possible, having regard to the congested state of the surrounding working class population?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

The Gallowgate Barracks have been sold to the North British Railway Company. There are no restrictions as to the class or character of the buildings to be erected on the site.
