HC Deb 11 December 1888 vol 331 c1771
MR. J. F. X. O'BRIEN(for Mr. TUITE) (Westmeath, N.)

asked the President of the Local Government Board, Whether the recommendations of the Boundary Commissioners in connection with "The Local Government Act, 1888," will affect the areas of the districts of the Superintendent Registrars of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, or whether such districts will, as at present, continue to extend into more than one county?

THE PRESIDENT (Mr. RITCHIE) (Tower Hamlets, St. George's)

The districts of the Superintendent Registrars of Births, Deaths, and Marriages are the Poor Law Unions; and if the area of a union is altered the Superintendent Registrar's district will be altered also, except in any case where special provision may be made under Section 58 of the Local Government Act.
