HC Deb 10 December 1888 vol 331 c1613

In reply to Mr. MILVAIN (Durham),

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

said: It is too late to introduce this Session a Supplementary Estimate in respect to the sums promised as compensation to Brannaghan and Murphy; but a Vote will be taken next Session. Meanwhile, should there be any necessity for immediate payment, the amount would be advanced from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
