HC Deb 10 December 1888 vol 331 cc1612-3
MR. DILLON (Mayo, E.)

asked, Whether it was a fact that a large force of constabulary and military were on the march with the intention of clearing a whole townland in the County of Donegal; and, whether he had directed investigation to be made into the position of those unhappy people before he granted the forces of the Crown?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

I believe there are evictions pending in that district; but I cannot answer, without Notice, the Question of the hon. Gentleman.
