HC Deb 04 December 1888 vol 331 c1022
MR. JAMES STUART (Shoreditch, Hoxton)

asked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether he can state to the House the steps which have been taken by the Government of India in accordance with the Resolution of this House of June 5 last?

The Indian Contagious Diseases Acts have been repealed. A Bill has been introduced to repeal the Cantonment Acts; and, in the meanwhile, the compulsory examination of women, and all provisions for licensing or regulating prostitution, have been stopped.
