HC Deb 03 December 1888 vol 331 c843
MR. CON WAY (Leitrim, N.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether a Petition, signed by the priests, the Local Justices of the Peace, and the people generally of Glenaniff, North Leitrim, praying for the establishment of a post office in the Glenaniff District, has been received by him; and, whether the Government can see its way to assent to the prayer of the Petitioners; and, if not, can he state on what ground?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

I have received a Memorial from the inhabitants of Glenaniff asking for the establishment of a post-office in that district; but as the cost would be more than eight-fold the available revenue, I am not prepared to comply with the application.
