Member, and have directed that the information he asks for in the first paragraph shall, in future, be included in the Return. I am afraid that there is no authentic information in possession of the police which would enable me to comply with the request contained in the second paragraph.
§ MR. MAHONYasked, whether no record was kept of the writs or warrants? He only asked for the numbers turned out of their holdings by writ or warrant.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURbelieved that no record was kept of the kind referred to by the hon. Gentleman. The information he had was obtained from the police, who were called in to protect the Sheriff's officers and watch the proceedings.
