HC Deb 03 August 1888 vol 329 c1392
MR. JOHNSTON (Belfast, S.)

asked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether the decision of tile Viceroy of India on the Public Service Commissioners' Report has been received at the India Office; whether he will state to the House the purport of that decision; and, whether any conclusion has been come to as regards the limit of age of candidates for the Indian Civil Service; and, if so, when any change is likely to come into operation?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JOHN GORST) (Chatham)

No decision has yet been come to by the Government of India on the Report of the Public Service Commissioners. Apart from the Report, there is no intention of altering the limit of age for candidates.
