HC Deb 26 April 1888 vol 325 cc719-20

(Colonel Nolan, Mr. E. Harrington, Mr. P. McDonald, Mr. Foley.)

COMMITTEE. [Progress 19th April.]

Bill considered in Committee.

(In the Committee.)

Clause 2 (Advance from Irish Reproductive Loan Fund).

THE SOLICITOR GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. MADDEN) (Dublin University)

said, the substance of the clause was not in itself objectionable, but it was unnecessary, because its objects, so far as they were considered expedient, were already carried out by an Order under the Irish Reproductive Loans Act of 1874. The other provisions of the clause, if thought expedient, could be adopted in the same manner.

Motion made, and Question, "That the Clause be omitted,"—(Mr. Solicitor General for Ireland,)—put, and agreed to.

Bill reported; as amended, to be considered To-morrow.

It being One of the Clock, Mr. Speaker adjourned the House, without Question put.
