acquainted the House that he had received the following Letters, relating to the imprisonment of two Members of this House:—

"Ennis, Co. Clare,

April 20th 1888.

Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that Mr. Joseph Richard Cox, Member of Parliament for the Eastern Division of the County of Clare, was this day, upon an Appeal from the decision of two Resident Magistrates, brought before me, as acting County Court Judge of this County, convicted of an offence under "The Criminal Law and Procedure (Ireland) Act, 1S87," and sentenced to be imprisoned for one calendar month; and that he has been by my warrant committed to the Gaol of Limerick, and is now confined there pursuant to his sentence.

Sir,

I beg leave to inform you that I have to-day confirmed the conviction of Mr. Alexander Blane, a Member of the House of Commons, on the charge of inciting persons to take part in a criminal conspiracy, and that I have sentenced him to be imprisoned for the period of six calendar months in the Prison of Londonderry.
