§ THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JOHN GORST) (Chatham)The Secretary of State has every reason to believe that this subject continues to receive the careful attention of the Government of India. The Local Governments and Administrations have been consulted, which is the first step in Indian legislation; and the Secretary of State thinks it probable that legislation on the lines of the Merchandize Marks Act will take place.
