HC Deb 18 April 1888 vol 324 cc1673-4

Order for Second Reading read.

MR. MUNDELLA (Sheffield, Brightside)

said, he hoped there would be no objection to taking the second reading of this Bill with the intention of referring it to a Select Committee. Among Welsh Members, Liberal and Conservative, there was no objection to that course.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Sir MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH) (Bristol, W.)

said he would remind the right hon. Gentleman that the First Lord of the Treasury had objected previously to the second reading being taken without discussion.

Second Reading deferred till Tomorrow.
