HC Deb 16 April 1888 vol 324 c1328
CAPTAIN COTTON (Cheshire, Wirral)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he can now give any information as to the manner in which the sum of £5,000 provided in the Estimates will, if voted, be distributed to the needs of agricultural education?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

The Agricultural Department is not yet in possession of the £5,000 alluded to, nor has it a staff at its disposal yet for the needful inquiries. The Privy Council Office will be ready to receive applications for consideration by the Department which may be entrusted with the duty of dealing with them.
