HC Deb 09 April 1888 vol 324 c704
MR. HOZIER (Lanarkshire, S.)

asked the Secretary to the Local Government Board, as the Representative of the Agricultural Department, Whether the proposed Committee of Inquiry into pleuro-pneumonia in cattle is to be empowered to conduct practical experiments, with the view of ascertaining the value of inoculation, &c.; and, if not, why not?

THE SECRETARY (Mr. LONG) (Wilts, Devizes)

I am afraid that no definite answer can be given to my hon. Friend until the Committee is formed. It is intended that the Committee shall itself decide what is needful to bring it to sound conclusions; and, therefore, Rules could not be laid down in advance for the conduct of the inquiry.

MR. HOZIER

gave Notice that when the Vote for the Privy Council came on for consideration in Committee of Supply he should call attention to the subject.
