HC Deb 12 September 1887 vol 321 cc285-6
MR. SEXTON (Belfast, W.)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, When the Irish Law Officers reported on the Petition for the grant of a City Charter to Belfast; what is the cause of the dely in finally dealing with the Petition; and, when he expects to be able to announce the granting of the Charter?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

I am sorry to say that I have not yet received the information which would enable me to give an answer to the hon. Gentleman. It has been in some way mislaid. I must ask him to repeat the Question to-morrow.
