HC Deb 13 May 1887 vol 314 cc1812-3
MR. W. REDMOND (Fermanagh, N.)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he will order the Wexford Militia to be trained in the town of Wexford if it is found that there is good ground for rifle range in that locality?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)

Even if a suitable range for rifle practice could now be provided, it would be too late to make the necessary arrangements for the camp this year, as the battalion is to come out for training on the 30th instant. The Military Authorities consider a change in the place of training, from time to time, to be advan- tageous; but I will consider for next year the claims of Wexford to have the battalion trained there.
