HC Deb 02 May 1887 vol 314 c541
MR. GILHOOLY (Cork, W.)

asked the Secretary to the Board of Trade, Whether, in view of the fact that the Loo Rock, at the entrance to Baltimore Harbour, County Cork, is a serious and dangerous obstruction, he will consider the advisability of having it removed?

THE SECRETARY (Baron HENRY DE WORMS) (Liverpool, East Toxteth)

The Loo Rock is within the limits of Baltimore Harbour, and is under the jurisdiction of the Baltimore and Skibbereen Harbour Commissioners, who, by a Provisional Order confirmed by Parliament in 1884, have power to deepen and improve the harbour and its entrance. The Board of Trade have no jurisdiction in the matter.
