HC Deb 31 March 1887 vol 313 cc84-5
MR. HANBUEY (Preston)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Royal Commission on Civil Establishments has completed its inquiry into the establishment of the War Office; and, whether the Commission will issue separate Reports on the completion of their inquiry into the respective Departments, and so avoid the long delay which must occur if their Report is deferred until the whole of the Establishments have undergone investigation?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

I am informed that the Commission on Civil Establishments has not entirely completed its inquiry into the establishment of the War Office; and, further, that it is the intention of the Commissioners to present Reports ad interim as they find it possible during the course of their investigation.
