asked the First Lord of the Treasury, "Whether he will grant facilities for the discussion and amendment of the alleged unsatisfactory laws relating to the qualification and registration of Parliamentary voters; and, whether he is prepared to assent to the appointment of a Select Committee to consider and report on the amendment and codification thereof?

, in reply, said, he would not enter into any engagement with regard to Parliamentary Business until progress had been made with the Irish legislation which the Government had announced to the House.
