SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)I am informed that the terms on which the Commissioners of the Exhibition of 1851 propose to grant the site for the Imperial Institute are not yet arranged;and the Commissioners tell me that they have no intention of asking the Lords of the Admiralty to release the site from the mortgage debt except upon payment of the amount due.

§ MR. W. H. SMITHI think I mentioned the other day that the Government have no connection whatever, as a Government, with the Imperial Institute;and, therefore, it would be quite out of the question for them to enter into any engagement on the subject.
