HC Deb 11 March 1887 vol 312 c8
MR. P. M'DONALD(for Mr. Cox) (Clare, E.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If he can state the amount of money expended in travelling expenses, &c, for the police force engaged in carrying out the eviction of Mr. John Frost, Rosmanagher, County Clare?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. HOLMES) (Dublin University)

(who replied) said: I am unable to give this information. It requires a great deal of clerical labour to extract these expenses; and, although this has been done in a few cases, it cannot be carried further without neglect of other duties by the official staff.
