HC Deb 11 March 1887 vol 312 c16
COLONEL GUNTER (Yorkshire, W.R., Barkstone Ash)

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Whether any precautionary measures are adopted to prevent the removal inland of cattle landed at Liverpool or elsewhere in Great Britain from Ireland, that are known to have been herded with, or in contact with, animals suffering with pleuro-pneumonia?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE DUCHY (Lord JOHN MANNERS) (Leicestershire, E.)

An Order of Council has been approved, and will shortly be passed, to enable Local Authorities to deal with animals which have been exposed to contact with diseased animals while in transit, whether from Ireland or other parts of the United Kingdom.
