HC Deb 04 March 1887 vol 311 c1264
LORD ERNEST HAMILTON (Tyrone, N.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether a Commissioner has been deputed by the Post Office authorities to report on the most practicable route for the extension of the telegraph from Dunfanaghy to Burton Port and Dungloe, County Donegal; and, whether there is any possibility of such an extension being carried out?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

In reply to the hon. Member, I beg leave to state that the question of extending the telegraph to Burton Port and Dungloe has been under the consideration of the Government; but it has been decided not to make the extension at present.
