MONTAGU (Tower Hamlets, Whitechapel)asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether the Treasury 1728 was consulted and gave its sanction to the Stationery Office, prior to the decision having been taken, to insert commercial advertisements in The Board of Trade Journal; and, whether he can state when the existing contract for advertisements will terminate?
§ SIR HERBERT MAXWELL (A LORD of the TREASURY) (Wigton)(who replied) said, the Treasury had been consulted and had given its sanction in this matter. The existing contract for advertisements would terminate on December 31, 1889.
